Work Capacity Assessment

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are standardized assessments designed to measure a client’s physical and cognitive abilities in relation to work or daily tasks. These evaluations provide an objective understanding of what a person can do safely and effectively.
During an FCE, therapists observe and record performance across various activities, including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and cognitive tasks. Detailed reports highlight strengths, limitations, and recommendations for return-to-work plans, rehabilitation, or workplace accommodations.
FCEs are particularly useful for employers, insurers, rehabilitation teams, and clients recovering from injury. They support informed decision-making regarding job placement, work adjustments, or further therapy needs.

Therapists work closely with clients to ensure safety, set realistic goals, and provide strategies to optimize performance. Clear, evidence-based reporting ensures accurate communication with all relevant parties.
