Our Story

At Wilene Wiggill Occupational Therapy, we are dedicated to helping clients of all ages reach their full potential through personalized, evidence-based care. Since opening our doors in 2013, our practice has offered professional occupational therapy services for children, adults, and families. We take a holistic approach, focusing on building independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in daily life.

Our team of experienced therapists brings a wealth of knowledge and specialized skills, ensuring every client receives high-quality support tailored to their needs. We continually update our training and stay informed on the latest research to provide therapy that is effective, innovative, and client-centered.

Meet Wilene Wiggill

– Occupational Therapist

Wilene Wiggill is an experienced Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of the Free State in 2010 and completed her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2016. She has worked across multiple settings, including the government sector, private hospitals, and private practice, bringing diverse experience to her role.

Wilene founded the practice in 2013 with a passion for helping clients improve their independence through accommodations, adaptations, and collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. She is qualified to conduct Dyslexia Assessments and often presents workshops for therapists, teachers, and parent groups. Her approach is holistic, compassionate, and focused on achieving meaningful results for every client.

Tameryn de Jesus

– Occupational Therapist

Tameryn joined the practice in January 2018, and has been an invaluable team member. She obtained her BSc. Occupational Therapy Degree from the University of the Western Cape in 2016. In 2017, she completed her Community Service year in a small rural town in the Eastern Cape, Somerset East. She also has a Post Graduate qualification in Sensory Integration. She has attended courses on ADHD, teen suicide, visual perceptual skills, left-handedness and Dyslexia.

She has also presented workshops on Sensory integration, sensory seeking behaviour in children with moderate to severe difficulties, and hand dominance. Tameryn has a passion for working with children and assisting them to reach their full potential, using various strategies and interventions.

Angelique Lodewyk

– Occupational Therapist

Angelique joined the practice in January 2024. She obtained her B. Occupational Therapy Degree from the University of the Free State in 2022. In 2023, she completed her Community Service year in a small rural town in KwaZulu-Natal, Pomeroy.

She has attended courses on Autism, Cerebral Palsy, visual perceptual skills, and hand therapy. She has a passion for working with children and assisting them in reaching their full potential, using various strategies and interventions, such as Hippotherapy/ Equine Assisted Therapy.

Mianca Oosthuizen

– Occupational Therapist

Mianca joined the practice in January 2025 and obtained her B. Occupational Therapy degree in 2023 (University of Stellenbosch).

She completed her community service at St Andrews Hospital in Harding (KZN). She completed coursed through Malamolele Onwards CP training, as well as hand therapy and mental health. Her passion lies in assisting her clients in gaining independence in their daily lives, through engagement in meaningful activities.

Raynette Smuts

– Office administrator

Raynette joined the practice in January 2024. She assist with the administrative management of the practice and is responsible for billing and scheduling.

Raynette shares her enthusiasm for people through supporting the therapists as well as offering reassurance to clients in the waiting room.

Silver

– Equine Therapy Partner

Silver is our gentle and intuitive therapy horse, helping clients feel comfortable and confident during Equine-Assisted Therapy sessions. She supports physical, emotional, and developmental growth, creating a safe and engaging environment for both children and adults.

Clients enjoy meaningful interactions with Silver, which encourage learning, independence, and personal progress. She is a valued member of our team, adding warmth, motivation, and a unique connection that enhances every therapy session.
